Think Tank Thuto

September 24, 2009

So, in my first few days I have already learnt some very interesting things about the work that is going on in the church here in Botswana.

One of the biggest projects currently under way is in conjunction with Think Tank Thuto, a non-profit educational organisation co-founded by Rt. Reverend Trevor Mwamba, Bishop of Botswana and Annelize Bester. The aim of Think Tank Thuto is to build two eco schools in Botswana, one in Palapye and one in Francistown, “for children of all economic backgrounds, religious beliefs and nationalities.” The schools will be state of the art and self-sufficient, not only providing outstanding education for the pupils, but also employment, medical care and access to communications technology for the local communities in which the schools will be built.

Visit the website or go to their blog to read more about the project.

If you think Think Tank Thuto’s goal is a good idea, go to their comments page on 3 Banana and leave a comment saying why you think so. If we get enough people to comment we could be in line for a donation from the lovely people at 3 Banana from their Share to Win Challenge. You’ll have to log in (to guard against ballot stuffing), but you only need to give your email address and they promise it won’t be shared with anyone. We’d like to get as many people behind this project as we can, not just for this challenge – the more people who know about the great work that’s going on in Botswana, the better!

If you’d like to be kept up to date on the project and find out how it’s going, sign up for email updates. Simply enter you email address at the following link: http://tr.im/znzP – of course, I’ll be updating you here also I’m sure.
